By popular request, this week Neighborhood of the Week heads to the Rocky Hill area in West Knoxville to take a look at quaint little community known as Forest Brook.

Located off Northshore just west of Lyons View, Forest Brook is a small-ish mid-century neighborhood. Most of the homes date from the 1950s, but building has continued over the years and is still occasionally ongoing on fill-in lots.

Being a mostly mid-century neighborhood, Forest Brook features many ranch style homes as well as many charming cottage style residences. There are also more traditional two stories, mostly built during the 1960s, and more modern 1 1/2 story homes built in the late 90s.

Recreation-wise, Forest Brook residents have it made, as they are just minutes away from one of the most popular walking trails in West Knoxville: the 2.1 mile loop located in Lakeshore Park.  The neighborhood is also just up the road from the Rocky Hill Ballfields.

Shopping is pretty sweet for Forest Brook homeowners as well, as they are just minutes away from all the boutique and grocery shopping in Bearden, the mall shopping at West Town, and of course, the smaller mom & pop shopping and excellent dining choices in Rocky Hill.

Thanks for the Forest Brook feature. The dark grey home is actually my son’s home, and I live in one of the late 1940′s, concrete block homes on Craig. Thanks for spotlighting our vewry special, unique neighborhood.

Best Wishes always…..love your weekly “neighborhood” emails. I send them to all of my clients.

    Warm Regards
